Dr. Myers' research goal is to make scientific information accessible and integrated into public understanding and decision making through enabling and evaluating effective communication - especially in the context of climate change. Dr. Myers contributes to this goal through conducting research into the "what", "who", and "why" of climate communication: what are important climate messages, who are the messengers best suited to communicate those messages, and why do these messengers & messages impact public understanding of and trust in science? Dr. Myers brings a social science perspective into how the DAAC can serve its users.
