MCD43D59 - MODIS/Terra+Aqua BRDF/Albedo White Sky Albedo VIS Daily L3 Global 30ArcSec CMG
This file contains the White Sky Albedo for VIS band.

MCD43D is retrieved separately from the 500m MCD43A1 (in other words, all observations within a 30 arc-second grid are utilized to retrieve the BRDF model parameters). Because of the large size of the products, each parameter for all 7 MODIS land bands and the 3 broad bands are stored in a separate MCD43D file. Therefore MCD43D1 is the MODIS band 1 (red) fiso parameter, MCD43D2 is MODIS band 1 fvol parameter, and MCD43D3 is MODIS band 1 geo parameter, and so on through to MCD43D30, the geo parameter for the Shortwave band. MCD43D31-MCD43D42 contain the 30arc second BRDF/Albedo Quality, Local Solar Noon, ValidObs Bands1-7, Snow Status and Uncertainty. Note that MCD43B 1km tiled products have been discontinued in Collection 6 and MCD43D products are offered in their place in collections 5 and 6.
In Collection 6, MCD43D was extended to 68 products. MCD43D42-51 are Black Sky Albedo for the MODIS bands 1-7 and the visible, near-IR, and shortwave bands. MCD43D52-61 contain Black Sky Albedo for the same set of 10 bands, and MCD43D62-68 are NBAR for MODIS bands 1-7.
Note that the V006 MODIS MCD43 products are retrieved daily and represent the best BRDF possible based on 16 days worth of inputs with the day of interest emphasized. Unlike the earlier reprocessed versions, the date associated with each daily V006 retrieval is the center of the moving 16 day input window, in response to user requests.
