Description:  	

This specification description of the MOD29E1D daily global sea ice 
and ice surface temperature (IST) data product serves as a guide to 
the contents of the data product.  A general description of the global 
metadata is given.  Specific details of the global metadata are found 
in the Metadata Configuration File (MCF). Descriptions of the SDS 
structures are given along with a listing of the local attributes and 
description of the content of a SDS.

The sea ice product is archived in HDF-EOS format and consists of 4
global metadata strings and 4 SDSs with local attributes.  The product 
is in EASE-Grid projection.  Projections of the North Pole and the 
South Pole are in the product.  For each polar projection there are
SDSs of sea ice extent and IST.  Spatial resolution of is approximately
4 km. The product is generated using MOD29P1D products (tiles)
as input.
