MCD19A3 - MODIS/Terra+Aqua BRDF Model Parameters daily L3 Global 1km SIN Grid
MCD19A3 represents the Multi-Angle Implementation of Atmospheric Correction (MAIAC) algorithm-based Level-3 (L3), 8-day composite, Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) model parameters gridded product at 1 km resolution, which is derived using both Terra and Aqua MODIS data inputs. This product provides three coefficients derived from the Ross-Thicke Li-Sparse (RTLS) BRDF model for MODIS bands 1 through 8 representing cloud-free and low aerosol conditions. It also includes spectral surface albedo for those bands, also represented under cloud-free and low aerosol conditions.
The MCD19A3 product contains a single data group with the following Science Data Set parameters:
- Grid1km group
- RTLS parameter for isotropic kernel [bands 1 – 8] (kiso)
- RTLS parameter for volumetric kernel [bands 1 – 8] (kv)
- RTLS parameter for geometric kernel [bands 1 – 8] (kg)
- Surface albedo [bands 1 – 8]
- UpdateDay (Number of days from last update to current day)
The MCD19A3 data product has achieved Stage-1 validation.
