On June 12th 2019, the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) implemented the Global Forecast System (GFS) version-15.1 (FV3) upgrade in operational processing.
The service change notice (SCN) is available at: https://www.weather.gov/media/notification/scn19-40gfs_v15_1.pdf At MODAPS, we transitioned to the new GDAS data from June 12th and forward. The MODIS (Terra and Aqua) atmosphere products impacted by this change include cloud mask (MxD35_L2), water vapor (MxD07_L2), cloud products (MxD06_L2) and the downstream Level -3 products (MxD08_D3, MxD08_E3 and MxD08_M3). |
